Impulsion

Im-pul-sion (noun)
- An urge to perform certain actions without regard for internal or social constraints.

Yesterday, the Husband came so close to buying a 37” LCD television because he thought it was cheap and the price couldn’t be any lower. Actually, he wanted to go for the 42” plasma but upon seeing my eyes widen in horror, he decided to just settle for the LCD.

Being the self-restraining wife, I dragged him out of the store, away from the smooth-tongued sales assistant.
I suggested lunch, hoping draw his attention away from the set. However, his impulsion got the better of him. After our meal, he led me back to the store again. Only that this time, he was trying his best to convince me into letting him make the purchase.

How can I possibly agree? Imagine the tones of milk powder and diapers we can buy for Jamie with $2000? A television? Sorry dear… we have a television at home that’s been serving us well. We can always get one when we move into our new house.

He drove quietly with a slight pout on our way home.
So cute, a big man sulking over a television.
