It was... good, well directed & well performed.
The progress wasn't very straight-forward and it was like watching a mixture of short stories, a movie-within-a-movie.
Some people may loathe films like these, such as Chicago, Moulin Rouge, etc...
One good example is my Mom, who regards such movies or rather musicals as slow & boring (catch no balls).
Another one that made me cry. Damn.
When the female lead (Zhou Xun) fled the relationship as she valued her career more than anything else.
At a point where it occurs that the male lead (Takeshi Kaneshiro) has recorded a line of thought on his walkman every year, for ten years.
He began from being broken hearted, to denial (I think i'm over you), to rage (I hate you, I hate you!) to bewilderment with a tinge of sarcasm (Are you dead? Why aren't you coming back? Go to hell!)
She was finally moved.
But it wasn't a happily-ever-after ending.. Aiyah, usual love triangle where in the end everyone goes their seperate ways in order to make life easier for the other parties. Chey!
